All pilgrims rescued from Kedarnath, focus shifts to Badrinath and Harsil



BADRINATH/DEHRADUN/NEW DELHI: Amid the first official confirmation that more than 5,000 people perished in the Uttarakhand catastrophe, massive efforts to save thousands of pilgrims stranded in Kedarnath and Badrinath achieved a big breakthrough with rescue teams scooping up nearly 12,000 survivors against the looming threat of rains, disease and starvation.








However, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) spokesperson Deepak K Pandey on Saturday informed that about 8,000 people were still trapped in Kedarnath region that suffered massive damage due to rains and flash floods.
